Baltic Power Offshore Wind Farm  

Client: Offshore Electrical & Structural Engineering Consortium* 

Project Overview:

Baltic Power Offshore Wind Farm is a major renewable energy project located in the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone of the Baltic Sea. Designed to generate up to 1,200 MW of clean electricity – enough to power over 1.5 million households – the project includes the construction of two advanced offshore substations and monopile foundations for 76 wind turbines. Baltic Power marks a significant milestone in Poland’s energy transition, enhancing the country’s offshore wind capabilities and contributing to the EU’s climate targets. The development presents complex engineering challenges, including deep-water installation, grid integration and environmental considerations aimed at protecting marine ecosystems.

Timahoe North Solar Farm

The project spans a large area and incorporates innovative ground engineering techniques to address the challenges of building on sensitive peat soils. This solar farm makes a significant contribution to Ireland’s renewable energy capacity, supporting the country’s national goals for decarbonisation and sustainable land use.

Hollandse Kust Zuid Offshore Wind Farm (Dutch North Sea coast)

Hollandse Kust Zuid Offshore Wind Farm is one of the largest offshore wind projects globally, located approximately 22 km off the coast of the Netherlands. With a total capacity of 1.5 GW, it powers over a million households with clean, subsidy-free renewable energy. The project features multiple wind farm sites, advanced offshore substations, and innovative turbine technology, including pioneering use of recyclable turbine blades. It emphasises environmental stewardship, incorporating biodiversity initiatives and advanced grid integration to ensure reliable power delivery. This project sets a new standard for large-scale offshore wind development in Europe and globally.

We provided limited consultancy input to the engineering subcontractor involved in delivering offshore substations, helping to facilitate effective project coordination and regulatory compliance.
